Hello Troopers, welcome to the first edition of Banana Builds! Banana Builds will be deck tech articles going over some of my favorite decks. First up is a Sabine Arggro/Cunning deck I’m calling Hit and Run.

This deck has no regard for our own base health and is completely focused on hitting fast and often while mixing in effects that deal damage to the enemy base. This version also has some more options to handle a midrange deck that some other Sabine lists I’ve seen don’t have.

What makes it work?

Sabine leader ability to ping both bases puts your opponent on a timer, that paired with her deploy condition on 4 resources allow you to get her out early and really focus fire on that enemy base.

Sabine unit has the ability to stay hidden if you have enough cards on the field. She also applies instant pressure and is a key card you are looking for in your opening hand.

Fighters for Freedom (FoF) is good value from a numbers perspective and it has two good abilities. Saboteur is very relevant into vigilance matchups and the ability to ping the enemy base as you play red cards is a serious problem for decks already put on a timer by Sabine.

The flair

Green Squadron A-Wing is an amazing card that can apply early and constant pressure in the space arena. Your opponent needs to take it seriously and deal with it or they will fall too far behind.

Rogue Operative is another really solid unit that applies constant pressure can can deal with shield/sentinel units.

Fleet Lieutenant is an amazing card and in this deck all of our primary pressure units are rebels so this is always on line.

Wing Leader is another really good unit and pairs well on round 2 to play and buff a round 1 Sabine unit.

The Removal

Waylay is a great card to bounce a unit towards the end of a round and is also an effective way to handle upgraded units.

Open fire is just solid and it gets the 1 ping from FoF, can clear a bunch of units and gets leader units within range of an attack.

Leia most of the time works as soft removal by exhausting enemy units which can protect our units or base from damage in our race.

Asteroid Sanctuary is similar in that we get to exhaust and most of our units are targets for the shield but Sabine unit is the optimal choice here.

Tech Out

Chewbacca is a solid card that can apply some pressure and is a good healthy body to handle some bigger enemy units in the late game

Disabling Fang Fighter and Auzituck Liberator Gunship both allow for some utility, DFF by removing pesky tokens and lightsabers, and Auzituck can clear a bunch of units with its ambush.

Shoot First is great to finish off a leader with an important unit like Sabine or FoF

Surprise Strike is another great option to swing up or finish off the base.

Aggression we are paying the penalty for but It’s been worth it in the late game to ready Sabine unit of FoF or a n A-Wing to close a game out. The 4 damage and defeating upgrades are the other options I’ve used a bit. Ending an opponent unit with the 4 damage and swinging twice with one of our own units is a huge shift in the game against midrange or resort heavy decks.

Mace is another late game option to combat enemy midrange decks with their own big units.

Mulligan

Ideally you want the 2 drop Sabine unit. Hard mulligan for that unit to really put your opponent on an accelerated clock. FoF and A wing also hood mulligan targets but Sabine is key.

What do we do with this mess?

Apply constant early pressure with Sabine, cantina braggart, A-Wing, and FoF and force your opponent to trade into your units, most of the time it’s in the Sabine players favor since our deck is so low to the ground.

Play your combat tricks as needed to stave off an onslaught from across the table and protect your own units.

Chewbacca and Mace are the late game pieces to look for against slower, tankier decks.

Improvements

The alliance x wing and Ezra are the two spots I’m looking to upgrade in the future. They are both solid units but I think we can do better in those spots.

I have this deck up on Swudb and I’ll update it as we get more cards.

Thanks for checking out this Banana Builds let me know what you think and we will see you in the arenas.
