On this Thanksgiving, as I reflect on what I’m thankful for SWU came up a fair amount. So I decided to get typing and list the 5 things I’m thankful for with SWU.

5. The Gameplay Itself

I’m very thankful for the gameplay of SWU. I love how the leader works and the two arenas is such a cool thematic way to do combat in a Star Wars game.

4. OP Roadmap

One thing a lot of people were worried about was how OP is going to work. Well it’s one often things I’m thankful for since we have a complete OP roadmap for competitive and casual OP. There is something for everyone in their OP plan and it’s really exciting.

3. Design Team

So far in the livestreams and interactions with members of the design team through social media it’s very clear the thought and care that’s gone into game design for SWU. So I wanted to share my thanks with the team at FFG working so hard to make a great game for all of us to enjoy.

2. The Old Guard

While I’m really happy and exciting for the large game this will grow into, I’m really thankful for all the old Star Wars Destiny players popping back up. It’s great to see familiar names in discord.

1. The community

The thing I am most thankful for is the SWU community. Shortly after the game was announced in May I started getting really excited about SWU. Dan, Ben, and I talked about creating content at a very premature stage. The discord server and facebook groups were created around the game and since then the community around SWU continues to grow. Not only does it grow but the amount of people dedicating huge amounts of their free time to provide some sort of benefit to the community is amazing. Between the large amount of content creators out there already, to the multiple databases, wikis, and even organized events I am truly blown away by the community and and super thankful to be a small part of it.
