Hello everyone, it’s been a good bit since I published a written deck guide so I am back to bring you a really fun and strong build. One of the guys in my playgroup turned me on to the deck, shoutout to Handlebar, and I’ve been jamming a bunch of games with it and finally have it to a spot I like. Overall it is just really solid. What makes Chirrut a good leader to build around is that he deploys earlier than any other force unit, and since leaders are the hardest units to remove, and his deployed ability makes him even harder to remove, it enables a lot of things for us.

What Makes it Work?

The Force. No really, the force package is what makes Cheerios tick and Chirrut deploying on 5 means we have at least one force user available along our entire curve ending with Luke. The force package is strong here because we always reliably have access to get the most out of Force Throw, The Force is With Me, and Jedi lightsaber. The force is with me is really the mvp of the deck and it’s so good with chirrut it’s crazy. Plus you can use it on all your other force units.

The Flair

Guardian of the Whills enables a lot of stuff early, playing upgrades on this unit shoutout need to be careful depending which aspects you are playing against, you need to be mindful of waylay and takedowns as well as force chokes, enabling our force events super clutch early and can really put our opponent on the back foot.

Yoda is just a great unit, he might as well be sentinel because if they let Yoda live they will probably lose because we will heal 2 every round otherwise, again he turns on all of our force synergies and is a great target for a lightsaber. Yoda + Jedi lightsaber deletes a lot of units. Obi-Wan Kenobi is really clutch on round 5 to protect Chirrut and then also to buff Chirrut once he gets defeated.

Luke Skywalker is an overall great unit, will delete something on play, huge restore 3 and is an absolute boss monster on the table, great late game play + force throw target to 1 shot most things on the board.

Green Squadron A-Wing might be the most efficient unit in the game, this along with the

Restored ARC-170 are great round 1 plays, we can either push early damage and with the ARC have another restore unit out and they can both be hit by Wing Leader or Fleet Lieutenant to get even more value out of them.

Tech Out

Force throw is a really great card in this deck, its kicker is almost always online and we can really hit anything we want with Luke and redemption plus screw with our opponents late when their hand size is small. Great utility card and this deck uses it better than most.

Baze gives us another sentinel unit a lot of the time, we normally play on curve so we can claim to keep iniative most times, having Baze take the heat for our force units is really nice.

the force is with me in the deck MVP, the amount of times this card blows the game wide open is amazing. It gives us buffs, shields, and action economy with the attack off of it. You can play on anything just make sure a force units out. I like playing it on Baze to make him a shielded 4/7 with sentinel and grit.

It Binds all things is another great card we get more out of than most decks, can hit all of our units and is great utility as it heals and we can damage other units with it.

Redemption is another one that’s amazing, we can force throw it to delete almost anything plus playing it we can heal 8 damage and gives us a nice sentinel unit in space!

Also Karabast I find to be extremely effective removal to use once Chirrut has deployed and he’s taken some damage, it’s also good with Baze and Obi-wan.

Mulligan

Generally I am looking for a 2 drop space unit, Wing Leader, and a cheaper force unit. The 2 drop space unit + wing leader opening really allows us to get some damage in early, clear whatever our opponent plays in space and potentially heal our own base. The force unit allow us to turn on our synergies for the rest of the game.

What Do I Do With This Mess?

Round 1 I normally like to play Sabine or a 2 cost space unit, both can be buffed on round 2 and trade into round 1 plays or go aggressive if the arena is empty.

Round 3 I like to play Guardian of the Whills + Jedi Lightsaber. This sets us up to take out an opposing leader next turn since the lightsaber gives us the -2/-2 on an enemy unit and it can take out Boba Fett Leader and still live, which tends to surprise people.

Round 4 is our deploy turn, I try to wait until my opponent spends some resources to get out of takedown/force choke range. Ideally we have an electrostaff or Jedi lightsaber to play on him right away.

Then from here we are using the force is with me along with our upgrades to take out units and hit base. We can force throw Luke or redemption at opposing boss monsters. Also they are great to play and heal up and win the game. Playing Obi-wan the round after we deploy helps protect and can buff Chirrut to push even more damage with our leader.

Sideboard

We have 2 copies of devotion I side in vs Aggro decks, they usually are running a lot less removal so it gives us a nice buff and another source of restore to survive the aggro early push.

2 power failure and 2 disabling fang fighters are here to hit any chirrut mirrors, Chewbacca, and other XP heavy decks like Tarkin and rebels.

2 vanquish for games into control to remove their late game plays when they feel they’ve turned the corner.

Then another Karabast and Takedown if I feel like I need access to more removal options.

Improvements

Baze originally was K2SO but I never felt like I wanted to play him so I switched to Baze and I think he fits much better but is still the first spot I think I would look to upgrade. Vigilant Honor Guards is a potential spot but I like that Baze usually takes 2 hits before going away where the vigilant honor guards only have sentinel until they are hit. Now you can make the play of IBAT to clear some damage but it’s too inconsistent to me.

That’s it for this BananaBuilds with Cheerios. Thanks for stopping by, we are very appreciate of the support and the community. We hope you have fun playing the deck and we will see you in the arenas!
